Growing the Signal
2016
Helium opens its very first store in Carlingwood shopping Centre in Ottawa.
2017
Helium expands to Quebec with its first location in Centre Laval.
2019
Expansion begins across Montreal and Ottawa.
2020
Helium Headquarters is established.

Two Helium kiosks open at Montréal–Trudeau Airport (YUL).

Through chatr’s Act Local program, we’re able to support the communities that support us.
Helium proudly participates in local events across Quebec and Ontario, from festivals and comedy shows to major sporting events. You’ll often see our team on-site with a Helium kiosk, connecting with people, sharing the Chatr brand and being part of the action.
It’s marketing, sure. But the kind that comes full circle.
We promote the Chatr brand, help people discover affordable wireless and in return we’re able to support the events and communities that helped Helium grow.

Our team has been part of many community events over the years, from festivals and local markets to comedy shows and large public gatherings. Through these events, we love meeting people face-to-face, sharing the Chatr brand and being part of the communities around our stores.
Some events are small and local, others much larger, but they all share the same goal: bringing people together.
One event we’re especially proud to support is Défi Sportif AlterGo, which we’ve been sponsoring for the past three years. This incredible non-profit organizes Canada’s largest annual multisport event for athletes with disabilities, welcoming more than 6,000 athletes from around the world each year in Montreal.
Being part of events like these reminds us why we do what we do.
